16 year old jobs

There are many different options for jobs for 16 year old.  These days 16 year old can get jobs in many different places that also have decent pay.  A Lot of companies also have programs that will help younger people decide what they would like to do when they get out of high school.  These programs usually pay decent and give students experience that they may not get until after they get out of college.  This is a excellent opportunity as well to gind out what they want as a career, since most students have no clue what they want to do when they go to college.

There are other opportunities if that does not sound good to you, many restaurants and fast food chains welcome younger to work there.  Besides pay it gives them the chance to interact with people other then their peers.  It can also be decent money too, which is what all 16 year old need, specially if they have recently gotten their license.  They are going to need gas and may need money for car repairs or whatever. 

Other good places are like grocery store chains, or super stores.  They often have openings for people who are just starting out or that can't have a full week of work.  They have the opportunity to schedule people with less hours because they have so many people working for them. 

During the summer after school is over there are opportunities to work at the local swim club as a lifeguard, or at a amusement park.  These jobs are nice because there isn't as much pressure and there also isn't anyone breathing down your neck making sure you are doing your job right.  But with all jobs their are responsibilities that you must remember.  Even though amusement parks and lifeguards are free feeling jobs you are still responsible for peoples safety. 

If you are interested in being your own boss you can always go around your neighborhood and offer to cut grass.  All you really need is a lawnmower and some gas.  Charge 15 or 20 dollars a lawn and before you know it you will be rich.  One good thing about these jobs are that you usually get paid in cash, and you work anytime you want, however long you want.  Depending on how much money you need for something will determine how long you will have to work.  You can be your own boss, and also be able to work outside too which is nice.

Whatever you decide to do for your summer job or whatever remember that you have people counting on you to do your job to the best of your abilities and to show up when you are supposed to.  If you don't show up when you're supposed to, you are potentially messing with someone else because they have to cover your shift.  Be responsible and go to work when you are supposed to.
